ELSWORD

4th Path: Genesis
Released: August 4, 2021
Elsword accepts the power and fate bestowed upon him by the El. He has lost his memory of who he is, but his sense of duty to protect the El and the world still holds strong.

Genesis’ support equipment ‘Sephira’ originates from Kabbalah, a form of Jewish mysticism. Sephira is the singular form of Sephiroth, which are the 10 attributes through which God (The Infinite) reveals itself.

Eve

4th Path: Code: Antithese
Released: September 29, 2021
Eve releases a mysterious code to become stronger, but it is riddled with error, changing and deleting many of her existing code. Refusing to accept there’s failure, Eve converts all failed results as success, replacing the lost code with even more complete, perfect code. Anything that opposes her perfect self are errors that must be eradicated.

Did you Know?

When players execute specific actions after becoming Code: Antithese, a pink icon with Remy will appear in the debuff icon section. Strange… It doesn’t seem like there are any negative effects from this debuff…

Aisha

4th Path: Lord Azoth
Released: December 8, 2021
Aisha seeks out new knowledge and masters alchemy until she creates and merges with the philosopher’s stone. By merging with the philosopher’s stone, Aisha is reborn as the powerful Lord Azoth, an immortal being who seeks out knowledge for all eternity.

Did you Know?

Azoth is what ancient alchemists called the element mercury. In the field of alchemy, it was considered to be a universal medication or universal solvent and was highly sought after.

Raven

4th Path: Revenant
Released: January 26, 2022
Raven decides to completely destroy his Nasod Arm using Alterasia to escape the control of the mind control device, but instead, his arm is taken over by the parasitic plant. The Alterasia that took over his arm gives Raven the power to turn everything he touches into ashes, and Raven decides to use this power to walk the path of revenge.

Did you Know?

A revenant is a person who has returned, especially from the dead, which is reflected in Revenant’s grim reaper-like design. Or perhaps… it’s in reference to his left arm that was supposedly destroyed, only to return in a deadlier form…

Ara

4th Path: Surya
Released: March 16, 2022
When Ara borrowed Eun’s power to protect her family from demons, she gains the power to commune with spirits. As she continued her journey, she gains a better understanding of both the holy beasts and humans and becomes the medium who lights the path for all creation.

Did you Know?

Phoenix Stance and Turtle Stance skills in Ara’s 4th path were inspired by 2 of the 4 sacred beasts from Chinese mythology – the Vermillion Bird and the Black Tortoise!

Luciel

4th Path: Demersio
Released: May 25, 2022
When Ciel receives a fatal wound, Lu attempts another soul contract in order to save Ciel. However, Lu’s senses slowly begin to dull due to the new contract and leads to her feeling trapped in a sense of futility. Ciel feels guilt, believing that Lu losing her emotion is his fault and believes if Lu regains her throne, then she may return back to how she was before. This leads Ciel to brutally slay any enemies that stand in their way.

Demersio’s power of ID and EGO is based on two of the three concepts in Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, Nihilda’s power, ID represents unconscious desires, while Tyrannus’ power, EGO expresses id’s desires in a way that’s most reasonable and realistic. The missing third concept the is super-ego, which acts as the moral compass.

Rena

4th Path: Prophetess
Released: August 3, 2022
Rena uses the language of the spirits to utilize their power. The more she uses their language, Rena realizes that the language of the spirits work best in the form of songs. As Rena’s understanding of the language deepens, she is able to understand the flow of history and see into the future.

Did you Know?

While there is no known musical language on Earth that was developed naturally, there are some whistled languages, such as Sfyria, that allow fluent whistlers to communicate potentially unlimited number of messages over long distances.

Laby

4th Path: Twins Picaro
Released: September 14, 2022
When Laby realizes that Nisha is supposed to be her ‘sadness’, she is determined to make sure Nisha never has to endure the sadness alone. Laby decides that if Laby always has fun and never feel sad, then Nisha, in turn, will also never feel sad. They are two troublemakers dreaming of their own happy wonderland.

Did you Know?

In Twin Picaro’s Hyper Active skill, Great Villain Appearance, they share their true feelings and merge as one! In the skill, Nisha momentarily gains a form before merging with Laby and once she transforms, Nisha (the mirror) is seen with an empty center.

Add

4th Path: Overmind
Released: November 23, 2022
Add finds his mother’s old research files containing Debrian medical research. Coming to the conclusion that humans are fundamentally not that different from Nasods, Add decides to use this research to control and experiment on humans to be seen as the new hero and healer. He will lead everyone to a world of perfection that no one ever achieved before.

Did you Know?

While Doom Bringer is the only Add that proudly displays his neck scar, glimpses of the scar can be seen in both Dominator and Mad Paradox (adult form)’s illustration underneath their collars, though you may have to look very, very closely. This is different from Overmind who actually erased his scar all together.

Elesis

4th Path: Adrestia
Released: January 4, 2023
Elesis finds a blue weapon that allows her to use the power of the El, but causes her to slowly lose her memory. She learns that she was destined to become the next El Lady which allowed her to resonate with the power of the El. However, understanding that the new era requires new responsibilities, Elesis resists her destiny to become a warrior to better protect Elrios.

Did you Know?

Adrestia’s new sword is called “Divinus Manus” which means divine hand in Latin. Interestingly, her left hand, the hand Adrestia uses Divinus Manus, is the only part of Adrestia that seems to assimilate to the power of the El.

Ain

4th Path: Opferung
Released: March 2, 2023
Desperate for the Goddess’ attention, Ain decides to try everything he can so the Goddess responds to him. Even if that means destroying Elrios that the Goddess loves so much. Whatever sins he commits now, he can pay for it at a later time.

Did you Know?

Opferung means ‘sacrifice’ in German, as in to kill or slaughter animals or people as an ‘offering’ to a divine or supernatural figure.

Chung

4th Path: Dius Aer
Released: Februay 1, 2023
As Chung helps the rebuilding efforts in Hamel, his Guardian Stone awakens to allow Chung to effectively help the people around him. The Guardian Stone reacts to his desire to help others and awaken the power of the Water El within. He becomes a sanctuary for everyone who needs protection.

Did you Know?

The power of the Water El within the Guardian Stone manifests in multiple ways, including Chung’s cannon that shoots water cannonballs instead of the usual mechanical cannonballs. How’s that for choosing the peaceful route!
