A Mongolian folk metal band based in New York, Tengger Cavalry is named after Tengger, the sky god of the Mongolian grassland. Created in 2009 by the award winning composer and song writer Nature Ganganbaigal, Tengger Cavalry blends overtone throat singing, Mongolian horse-head fiddle and other nomadic music traditions of Central Asia with heavy metal music, creating a unique musical genre.
